GAPP Statement on Coronavirus

As coronavirus COVID-19 continues to spread around the world, we understand you may have questions and wanted to provide an update on how the seafood industry is responding. We at the Association of Genuine Alaska Pollock Producers are part of a cross-species collaborative network that brings together experts to refine our plans for managing the impact of the disease and minimizing disruption to our people, our customers’ operations and our business.

Our industry is taking every precaution to protect our fishermen and employees so that we can continue to deliver our delicious and nutritious fish/seafood on time to our valued partners. We are here to answer any questions you may have and will provide updates as to plans and our operations.

The broader seafood industry has also launched two websites that provides resources from the relevant experts and authorities related to the disease and how there is no evidence that seafood consumption poses any risk for transmission. Those websites are: https://seafoodsafetycovid19.wordpress.com/ and https://www.alaskaseafood.org/foodsafetycovid19/

Stay safe and healthy and please continue to enjoy our delicious Alaska Seafood which provides many essential vitamins and nutrients!
