GAPP Launches Wild Alaska “Pollock Pod”
SEATTLE, Washington— The first “Pollock Pod,” a podcast recorded with the Wild Alaska Pollock industry in mind, will air its first episode tomorrow, Friday, January 19, 2024, the Association of Genuine Alaska Pollock Producers (GAPP) announced. The new biweekly broadcast will provide digestible “fish nuggets” of in-depth fishery and market analysis, relevant and timely updates on Wild Alaska Pollock happenings and special announcements about GAPP initiatives to GAPP members, associate members, partners and allied industry.
“As the Wild Alaska Pollock A Season fishing begins in Alaska, there’s no better time to launch this new Wild Alaska Pollock Pod-cast,” said Craig Morris, GAPP CEO. “We’re an organization by and for our members and are always looking for new ways to connect to our members and the broader industry we serve. This is yet another way we’re hoping to get information out in a fun, engaging succinct and, most of all, effective way.”
The biweekly podcast will be co-hosted by GAPP’s Director of Industry Relations, Partnerships & Fishery Analysis, Ron Rogness, and Marketing & Membership Services Manager Jon Ochoa but will routinely showcase special guests with interesting and relevant perspectives. Most frequently, the podcasts will share out the analysis contained in some of GAPP’s routine reports on the Wild Alaska Pollock market, trade, and surimi supply. The podcast is an extension of GAPP's commitment to keeping its community well-informed and engaged in the dynamic world of seafood. Each episode aims to provide not just information but also insights for businesses and people within the industry.
